Napoleon’s captive alligator is getting bored in Paris and so he stows away on a trip to Venice. There he fits right in, even attending costume parties. That is until Napoleon finds him and tries to capture him, but the alligator’s friends will have none of it.
I haven’t read the classic I, Crocodile by the same author, so I may be slightly unqualified to accurately review this book. That said, I enjoyed this fun story and the timeless style of the illustrations. In a note at the end of the book it explains how the author died while he was in the process of creating this book.
