Astrid is a young girl who takes care of all the animals who come to her and need help. When a calf with wings comes to her for help she can’t figure out what is wrong and what he needs. As she spends time with sky calf, she realizes that friendship is sometimes the best healer.
The illustrations in this book are primarily blue and yellow, with a little red, creating a childlike feeling, but for me this got monotonous after a while. The story is simple and sweet and young readers will enjoy the fact that imaginary animals are seen as completely normal.
