BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K, EL (K-3) - ESSENTIAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
Dogs versus cats is a battle for the ages. In this rhyming romp, the dogs tell why cats can't wear the amazing types of hats and share fashion sense while teaching fun words and phrases. Will dogs triumph and get all the hats? Will cats steal all the hats? Can't we all get along and share? The prose isn't fancy, challenging or revolutionary but it does remind us that the familiar can be fun.
This book was so cute and the rhymes remind me a little of other rhyming picture books which are so fun to read. Students will check out this amazing read aloud. You will smile as you read it and whether you are a dog person, a cat person, or a person who loves both like me, you will love the book! If you like Cat in the Hat or Skippyjon Jones books, you will like this fresh rhymer.
