Baby Loves Sight! By Ruth Spiro –NOT RECOMMENDED

Baby Loves Sight! By Ruth Spiro.  BOARD BOOK. Charlesbridge, 2019. $9. 9781623541033

BUYING ADVISORY:  PRE-K - NOT RECOMMENDED
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

Baby learns about his sense of sight through scientific explanations and diagrams. Questions like how does he see the shovel? Why does it look blue? Additionally eyesight problems and how rainbows form are addressed.  Bright and appealing illustrations.

This is one of those board books that appeals to adult purchasers. Who doesn’t want their child to be smart? But this is a difficult to understand topic for even older readers and this book delves in way more than the attention span of a pre-k child. The illustrations and cover are well done and would draw a reader to choose it, but I think they would be bored of this board book fairly quick. My one year old wanted nothing to do with it.
