BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K, EL (K-3) - OPTIONAL

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

Blue is a Tooth Fairy in training, and his last big test happens to land on Christmas Eve when he needs to collect young Veda's tooth, leave her prize, and be back at headquarter in good time. But he happens to arrive at the same time as Santa--and the old elf is insistent that only he gets to leave gifts on Christmas Eve! Blue and Santa battle it out in various competitions until they discover that Veda was hoping both of them would arrive that night--and both magical characters will need to work together to make it all right for the little girl its really all about.

This is the kind of book that has a fantastic premise, but somehow falls flat in the actual telling. Something in the way it is written makes it a whole lot more boring than it should be. That being said, the illustrations are fun and young kids who are enamored with the tooth fairy will get a small kick out of it.
