Tsering, though blind, unerringly makes his way home for his dinner of Thukpa, noodle soup. Along they way he invites a few others to share the meal. Everyone is welcome, but when the power goes out it is Tsering who can help finish making the meal.
The Ladakhis are small group of people in the cold desert of India. The authors not only introduce us to a bit of their culture, but also show the quiet competence of the blind boy Tsering. Great to teach about culture and to create empathy. A little bit of back matter teaches about the Ladakhi and includes a recipe for the soup!
