Gilani has taken the familiar outline of the Snow White tale and adds depth and details reimagining it within Muslim culture. Whether your students are familiar with Islam or know nothing about should appreciate this very clever and interesting retelling.  Honestly, it is so well-written, you could include this with your traditional fairy tales if you wanted to. Otherwise, you could catalog it with Islam books. I am excited to show this to my middle school Geography teachers.
