This book is a
board book release of a 2014 picture book. It features illustrations of parent
and baby animals. The parents are taking care of the baby animals in many of
the scenes or they're just shown together. The text describes what the baby needs
such as being part of a family, to move, and to have shelter.
Although these
are some of the more score just an adorable illustrations I have ever seen my
10-month-old had zero interest in this book. The text was kind of unusual, it
didn't really gel for me and didn't seem particularly baby friendly. For
example the word shelter is rather complex, more friendly words for a pre-k or
baby might be a place to sleep, a place to rest, a home, or someplace to nap. A Pre-K child might show more interest in this
book but it's not my favorite. A Pre-K teacher could use this in a lesson,
asking their students how their parents help to take care of them.
