Jake loves his pirate family, but he wants to go to school, too. Though he is a little afraid, he heads off, forgetting that his parrot, Polly, is sleeping under his hat. When Polly escapes, causing havoc all throughout the school, Jake is afraid that he won’t be allowed to stay.
I think young readers will be happy to read about Jake’s and Polly’s antics. It would be a good platform to talk to young students about classroom behavior. Plus, don’t we all need another picture book for Talk-Like-A-Pirate-Day?
