The Ball Book by Joshua David Stein and Marcus Oakley - ADVISABLE

BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K - ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

Stein takes us through a wide assortment of balls in his silly book.

Oakley’s spare illustrations may seem odd at first, but they actually work well in this format.  At first I didn’t notice that Stein was using slant rhyme in his text – until the pattern become odd and a bit off.  Since I was reading out loud over Facetime, the oddities made me stumble – even with practice it would still be a little off. But as a book about balls of all sorts, it is still great fun.
