Readers learn
all about Crocodiles (and their relatives) via vivid cartoon illustrations that
features lots of humor and fun characters. They learn about where they live, what
they eat, how they hunt, how humans can prevent becoming their prey, and more. The book is fully illustrated and filled with bright colors.
This is a
fantastic book that young readers will love to learn from. Its incredibly funny
with lots of little things to look at and learn. The illustrations are creative
and full of personality but would be difficult to share with a group, as much
of the joy in this book is found in all the little jokes and asides. I would rate this
book as essential but I find cartoon/illustrated informational books are a
tough sell to the younger readers (they are the age group that ask for books
like this the most). They have been taught that typical informational books
feature photographs and fictional books are illustrated, so they get confused. They also ooh and ahh more when you give them a photo based predator book, like sharks or tigers. I bet a second grader
would love this book though, they would get the jokes and understand that the information is real.
