Pencil likes to
draw, and Eraser likes to erase. At
first pencil is just annoyed by eraser who follows and changes everything that
pencil draws. Eraser is persistent and positive, erasing the dark sky in a forest
into stars and helping with a maze. Eventually
pencil see’s that they things are better when they work together. Features
simple bright illustrations.
This is a well
written and creative book with a simple plotline about working together and
friendship. The illustrations are easy to share with a group as they stand out
from a stark white background. However, there is at least one book already out
with the exact same plotline with more interest and better writing and
featuring excellent illustrations, Linus The Little Yellow Pencil by ScottMagoon. That’s the one I’d pick up for a school library.
