A little bunny,
Buns, is all about doing good deeds; her big sister however, is determined to
tell her that kindness is great but certainly not a superpower. As they move
through their town on an errand, Buns listens to her sister and continues to do
her good deeds. Is the big sister right or will Buns teach her a lesson?
This book
features adorable, bright, and appealing illustrations. The story is adorable
as well. The problem for me is that student readers are not going to buy into
the lesson here –I think they will be waiting and waiting for Buns to get a
real superpower somehow, like earning one from being kind. They are fascinated by super
powers and would love just a great read about super powers. As for kindness,
powerful book like The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig would be a better lesson.
