A new mama pig
is raising her piglets when a new piglet shows up one morning. This piglet is
different (he is a little puppy!), but mama pig doesn’t notice. The other
piglets do though and point out how he is different. When the peculiar pig
saves the other, the other piglets appreciate this difference.
This book
strongly reminds me of a library favorite Little Pink Pup by Johanna Kerby,
where a real life mama dog (the same kind as in this book) adopts a baby piglet
and raises it. Although this one had an exciting ending and more of a moral about acceptance, I
was surprise to see how similar it was to an already published book. The
illustrations are darling and easy to share with a group.
