BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: LOW
A boy falls asleep under a lacy blanket, which changes its patterns according to the boy's questioning thoughts, eventually destroying itself. So when a bad dream makes it so Joao can't sleep, he has an idea to put his blanket back together.
Originally published in Brazil in Portuguese, I was anticipating really liking this story because I could see lace represented on the cover, and a magical lace blanket seemed cool. But João (pronounced Joe-ow), is represented as an unusual looking silhouette, the lace drawings are messy and the story is very odd.
