Before the work week starts, Mom gathers a few encouraging words that her child can repeat whenever they are missing each other or need a pick-me-up: Always with you, always with me. The story follows the activities of mother and child as they make their way throughout the rest of the week, each never far from the other’s mind.
I relished this story of modern motherhood. It was refreshing to see a mother balancing a professional career and care for her child. I also loved that the picture book centered a Black family and their everyday moments of joy and familial love.
