The history of underwear is humorously presented by Professor Chicken. From the earliest known underwear - a leather loincloth and on to the linen underwear worn by ancient Egyptians, there are so many things to learn. There's a discussion of diapers, of class and gender differences, and a series of pictures of women's underwear through the ages (worn by chickens of course). There are even bits of historical underwear news.
Funny illustrations, putting the underwear on chickens is genius. I liked the puns in the illustrations like 'Fruit of the Tomb" when they were referencing Egyptian underwear. Not a thorough reference, but a delightful book full of interesting facts and dates and silly illustrations. A great launch into a discussion of fashion, or cultural styles. I liked that women's fashion through the ages included European Fashions as well as Asian.
