Not what I was expecting - such an interesting picture book about the benefits of smoke! Merce Lopez's illustrations are gorgeous - in grey and browns, well, smoke colored. The reader seems to look through the smoke. A fascinating perspective. Includes an appendix on Smoke and Civilization - perfect to use in a class when studying ecology. Greenhouse gases and climate change are covered as well.
