Tommy wants to turn down an invitation to a birthday party because there will be a dog there and he's afraid of dogs! But, his mom understands and wants to prepare Tommy. The best way, she says, is through exposure. Getting close to dogs, but small steps so it won't be scary.  So, after looking at dogs online, and visiting a dog rescue, Tommy feels less afraid when he sees a dog at the park - but will he be able to enjoy himself at the birthday party?

A wonderful story about working through something that might scare you. The illustrations are cute and the text rhymes. Magination Press has included a lot of parent notes for helping your child navigate this process.
