A girl notices that her eyes are different than the other girls at school. She has beautiful eyes that "kiss in the corners and glow like warm tea." Like Mama's eyes, which also sparkle when she laughs. They are like her Amah's eyes, which see into her heart and can read her mind, and help her see the stories Amah tells. They are even like her little sister Mei-Mei's eyes, which look at her with love.

Gorgeous illustrations and beautiful text draw a connection between a child's features and the women who love her. A wonderful story about celebrating your beauty, and seeing it in the people who care about you. Highly recommended, especially if you work with an Asian population.
