Max and Marla have been anticipating summer vacation. In fact, the ordered travel guides from the bookstore. They are thinking of heading to Australia to see Koala. So, they pack their bags and fly to the ocean, and get in their boat and start rowing. But their camera might not be working properly and Max misses all the animals in the water (and also drops the camera). Arriving in Australia, they have to make the best of it without a camera.
Hmm, I wasn't sure what was going on here; couldn't tell if it was a real trip or only imagined. The illustrations were cute and the trip was beautiful, but the plausibility of rowing to Australia and flying a plane seemed a stretch, especially when there was no context to help explain.
