As Bear walks through the forest Rabbit keeps asking Why? Bear answers as best as it can, but when Rabbit sees a dead bird on the snow, Bear answers truthfully, I don’t know.
Seeger’s illustrations are beautiful as usual – they’d make great wall art. The byplay between Rabbit and Bear just doesn’t spark as much interest, though.
