A little girl is trying to write a story about her kitten, but the kitten wants to be more ferocious an exciting. First he has to help the girl along, but when she starts getting into the story, the kitten tiger gets just a bit afraid.
Woodruff writes a perfectly nice little story and it will be read aloud by many families, but it probably won’t be read repeatedly. If you want something similar, I would pick up Chloe and the Lion by Mac Barnett.
