The Polar Bear is an expert at being patient. Whether it's while hunting, or in darkness or because of weather. Today the condition of the ice is making it more and more difficult for the polar bear to hunt and wait. They have to swim further and further between ice floes, so this bear must swim and swim to find a safe place to stand.
One bear's story of survival makes an important statement about our environment and the problem with global warming. While the author never talks about that, it's evident that the story's trouble is caused by this environmental concern. Not heavy handed or political, this beautifully illustrated book gives a voice to the polar bears. Includes an author's note giving more information about the bears and their relationship with the sea.
