AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
George the Polar Bear is unhappy living in the city--he doesn't feel its a place that fits him very well. As George journeys through various other habitats--jungles, deserts, etc--he searches for a place that feels right to a polar bear. Eventually he makes his way to the Arctic where the cold, snowy plains make him feel right at home.
This is a great picture book about finding the right home for who you are. The story was actually pretty simple, but it would be a great pick to introduce the science concept of habitats to younger students. (Why is the Arctic the right home for George rather than the desert?) I also loved the color scheme to the illustrations--they feel comfortable and cool and added so much to the book.
