Llama destroys the world by Jonathan Stutzman – OPTIONAL

Llama Destroys the World by Jonathan Stutzman. PICTURE BOOK. Henry Holt  (Macmillan), 2019. $18.  9781250303172

BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) -OPTIONAL

AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

This book is a week in the life of llama who accidently creates a huge disaster with his small actions, like over-eating and wearing pants that are too small. It features adorable illustrations that are bright and action packed.

I think readers that have had some introduction to outer space education will find this book extra funny! But other younger will find the concept of black holes and universes a bit confusing. The llama part is pretty funny, but there is a bit of overeating/being chubby/clothes that don’t fit because it, that might not be very politically correct with some parents and I wouldn't want to make any student uncomfortable -like if they are overweight it might cause the end of the world.
