Back in the early 1800’s Samuel Morse worked on all kinds of inventions – that weren’t always successful. Deciding to work on his painting, he headed off to Europe where he saw other fabulous inventions. Coming home, Morse gets to work on his big inventions – the telegraph and Morse code. If he can work the bugs out, his invention would change how information is shared.
Maurer manages to share Morse’s story succinctly, but with the details that show his different life paths and the ups and downs of inventing. A great addition to a STEM library of any sort.
