Prince Carlos Charles Charming has a problem. He has been invited to a party thrown by an evil queen, his aunt, Queen Cayenne, to celebrate the birthday of his cousin, Prince Hortense. Going to royal parties has never been high on Carlos’s list of favorite things to do, but with his aunt threatening to wage war on his own kingdom if he insults her in any way, Carlos knows he must go and represent Far Away Kingdom in the most princely manner possible. Too bad Carlos is not a princely-prince.

The fifth book in the Prince Not So Charming series, Happily Ever Laughter, follows the formula author Roy L. Hinuss has come to rely on for success. Lots of humorous dialogue, puns that will entertain both children and adults, and black and white illustrations interspersed every few pages make this a likable book. Given the popularity of series books, this would be good to consider for an elementary library collection.
