In the format of a classified file, this book walks through files of information on mammals. A museum librarian is tasked with finding the most important information and presents all that she has found. There are graphics and illustrations, and longer sections of text.
The chunked-up nature of this books makes it easy for kids to read, while still exposing them to a lot of text and information. The 8-page timeline in back is also an engaging source for information. I think this book will appeal to someone with an interest already there, but will do little to generate new interest.
