Five little Gaines children explain how they decided
to grow a garden with their parents.
They started with a houseplant that eventually died, but instead of giving
up, they kept acquiring new plants and trying again. Eventually they ended up with a whole garden,
and when the garden was at it’s prime, the goats broke out of their fence and
destroyed their flowers. The kids
decided to keep trying. As the garden
produced flowers and tasty food, the kids appreciated all of their hard work
and determination.
This book is
adorable. The illustrations are attractive
and expressive with an appealing front cover.
The story isn’t just about how to grow a garden, but the important value
of not giving up and the benefits of hard work.
