Bitty Bot is really bored while on vacation at the beach
with his parents. He’s got all sorts of complaints and doesn’t want to stay,
but his parents aren’t quite ready to leave yet. Luckily, Bitty sees some other
little robots who look just as miserable as he does. They make a plan to create
a submarine and go on an adventure. They dive deep and find all types of sea
creatures. They are having a much more exciting time when the submarine springs
a leak. The robots work together to push themselves up and out of the water,
back to the beach. They decide that the beach isn’t as boring as they thought
it was.
This book has cute rhyming text and the bright pictures are
definitely appealing to look at. I think it might be hard to find a large
population of readers who will relate to Bitty Bot’s disapproval of the beach,
but the places he travels to are very interesting. I also think it was a bit
too long.
