Roxie’s Uncle Dangerfoot has invited
her to go on a vacation with him to Buzzard’s Roost. Roxie is excited to invite her best friend, Norman,
and also spend some time away from the Hooligans (four rag-a-muffin bullies
turned friends). However, upon their
arrival to Buzzard’s Roost, they discover the Hooligans have stowed away in the
back of Uncle Dangerfoot’s trailer and everyone decides to vacation together. It soon becomes evident that Uncle Dangerfoot
is working on a new invention and everything at the house isn’t as it seems,
but Roxie and the Hooligans have faced adventures together before and they work
together again to help thwart the evil plans of an outsider.
These quirky kids are entertaining in their
adventures. My eight year old son enjoyed
both Roxie books because they have mystery and suspense, but he said he liked
this one best. I recommend reading them
in order, so you can appreciate the relationships and roles of the characters,
even though the story line can stand on it's own.
