Chilly the penguin is always inventing and creating until one of his creations causes a portion of his iceberg to break off and float away. Chilly has to think fast and try some new inventions to bring the penguins back to their home. After some fails he builds a flying machine to get them home.
I did not love this book, I thought the amber and blue color palette was boring and the text predictable, but my five year has requested this book over and over again. He likes all the inventions and and diary writing mixed with narration. There are several allusions to Leonardo and an Author’s Note in the back about the renaissance man, making this a more layered book.
