Ebenezer Has a Word for Everything by Chelsea H Rowe - ADVISABLE

Ebenezer Has a Word for Everything by Chelsea H Rowe, illustrated by Frank Dormer. PICTURE BOOK. Peachtree, 2018. $18. 9781561458486

BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K, EL (K-3) - ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

While Ebenezer’s friends collect rocks and stamps, he collects words. Ebenezer keeps a notebook full of words, but doesn’t have anyone who appreciates them until he meets Fitzgerald who likes to tell stories but doesn’t always have the right words. Together they make the perfect team.

This would be a fun book to use in a writing lesson, perhaps even encouraging kids to keep their own personal dictionaries and word lists. I like that the book has all the definitions to the words used in the book at the back, complete with pronunciations (which I had to use a couple times).
