Starting off with the story itself and the first productions of the play, we learn more about Shakespeare and the world during his life. Following the adaptations, we see more modern movies, musicals, and influences from the story.
This story is one of the most famous stories of all time, yet most of us don't know the original. This book is an interesting reminder and list of the impact Romeo and Juliet has had on writing, movies, and more. Bisantz gives us a well-organized and fun introduction to Shakespeare, as well as teaching some of the most famous stories of all time. The simplified storyline of Romeo and Juliet is easier for younger readers to understand because of the difference in language during the time of Shakespeare. This book is great for kids across the ages, especially ones interested in books, movies, and plays.
