A young girl is looking forward to making her first “mango memory” helping her family harvest mangos, a culturally important fruit in India. Everyone in her family shares their own mango memories as they reflect back on their own mango memories on how special the fruit is to them.
This colorful and joyful picture book does a great job providing insight into a different culture in a simple way. I love how each member of the family has their own special memory to share, which makes me think this would be a great mentor text for a narrative writing project in class.
