BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
Penelope had been practicing her library skills at home all year. When she was finally selected to be the student librarian she was elated. She had all of the right skills: friendly, helpful, and a book-lover. However, Penelope was also loud. She was so loud her voice could be heard in space. She was so loud that books fell from shelves and the ground rumbled when she spoke. When her loud voice ruined the library, Penelope was devastated. She was about to give up when she has an idea that will allow her to be a student librarian and be true to herself.
This is a great story about being true to yourself and having the determination to find solutions to problems. The children depicted in the book have a wide variety of ethnicity and abilities.
