Spreckle, a dragon, was hatched in the chicken coup on a farm. He had a mother hen, siblings, but he didn't like the dried corn and slugs they ate every day. He flew the coop and tried other farm animals food. Nothing was very good. He even tried popsicles from the treat truck which were too messy. He soon gave up and sat on a haystack in the rain. Mother hen and chicks brought him back to his warm bed in the chicken coop. He decided dried corn wasn't so bad. Spreckle sneezed out some fire, and he found the perfect snack surprise.
Spreckle's Snack Surprise has a fun and interesting premise with a surprise ending. Cute illustrations enhance the dragon's antics and frustration. I enjoyed the story.
