Before the rain comes, everything seems soft and quiet. The birds and trees whisper to other animals to hurry home. Children see the sky getting dark and hurry home. Whiskers on cats feel the rain coming and dogs smelt it yesterday, and they head inside. Ducks are happy about the rain, and have a glorious day with their babies. Wonderful free rain is good for everyone. After rain everything living will be better.
Rain is a soft and calming book that focuses on the feelings rain brings on animals and people. Ryland ends her text with the good that rain provides for everyone. I enjoyed the colorful patterned illustrations and cute animals. Children will enjoy each picture of what the animals are doing to prepare for the rain.
