A 5th grader named Robyn has moved many times in her life. She moves to California with her mom and her two dogs. She sees an agility class for dogs and wants to join with her two Jack Russell terrier mixes. The teacher says no because one of her dogs is deaf and partially blind. The other dog has anxiety issues. Robyn tries to find a way for her dogs to do agility and she makes some friends along the way.
This would be a great book for readers that are interested in dogs or who have experienced being the new kid at school. There are many great messages in this book about making friends and how we treat those different from us. Robyn learns many lessons and I think the reader will enjoy learning them along with her! Robyn is presumably white.
