BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
This book is all about the effect one person can have on a community or on another person’s life. It starts with a girl being yelled at and another girl leaving the group to comfort that one girl. Eventually others join.
It is hard to deny that this is a lovely message, but I don’t know that this book stood out in the sea of books with the same message. The characters weren’t particularly expressive which made it hard to feel invested or emotive. I did like that the practical list at the end of the book started with, “Acknowledging others’ presence, so they don’t feel invisible.”
