Orphaned at 12, Alexander Hamilton was a self-made man. Hungry for an education, he acquired sponsors and moved from the West indies to American at 17. Quickly completing his university education, he fought in the Revolutionary war, eventually alongside George Washington. he helped to write the Federalist Papers, became the secretary of the treasury and created the banking system still in use today. Alexander Hamilton spent his life helping to build his adopted country.
Beautiful paintings highlight this lovely biography. Told in 1st person as though Hamilton is writing his own story, each full page illustration is set beside Hamilton's 'letter" talking about that part of his life. A really nice introduction to this founding father.
