Eli loves going to the library and hearing Miss Mudge read stories. One day the river overflows and threatens to destroy the library. Eli and others brave the storm to save the books.
Based loosely on the Lincoln, Vermont library flood, this is a nice story about a community working together to save something that unites them. Charming prose works well with the pictures.
