As night begins, Grandfather is looking for Miyuki in the garden. The illustrations show a small Miyuki in the planters and on the vegetables. Miyuki explains that she can’t go to bed until she does one more thing, only to find another thing she must do. These tasks include helping the snails find their way home and watering the garden. Finally, the last task is to have grandfather read her a story.
This is a gorgeous book. The illustrations are stunning and the whimsical element of having Miyuki illustrated so small is fun for all ages of readers. I loved that much of the text is a conversation between a grandfather and a granddaughter. This is the perfect bedtime story for parent and kid alike.
