AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
Many years have passed and the couple who temporarily took care of Heidi in So B. It, now have a daughter named Aurora. Aurora is a bit of a quirky kid and doesn’t have any friends. Her best friend is her dog, Duck, who goes missing after her attic catches fire. When her parents question her about possible involvement in the fire, Aurora loses it. She accuses her parents of secretly wishing Heidi had been their daughter.
For me this book does not come close to the appeal of So B. It, and can’t stand on its own. Heidi is now an adult and a background character. Aurora is not as endearing, kind, or adventurous as Heidi. The plot is bland in comparison. However, So B. It was so popular that anyone who loved it, will automatically want to read Soof. For that reason, purchasing is advisable. Just make sure both novels are on the shelf.
