Slowpoke the jellyfish has been fired from his job as a jellyfish bus for being too slow. As he vacations to the deep, deep, deep ocean floor, he encounters many creatures who would like to travel closer to the surface, but they don’t have jellyfish bus service.
Lee’s book is formatted on several pages to feel like a graphic novel - but still retains its essential picture book-ness. Slowpoke is rather funny and it is silly to consider the varieties of creatures and conversations Slowpoke has. I do like that Lee didn’t just substitute animals for a main character who could have been human instead. Longer than most really popular picture books, but a lot of fun.
