One day Bear goes fishing to catch dinner, but ends up reeling in a colorful tangled sail with a fish named Eustace tangled in it. Eustace pleads with Bear to not eat him. Bear lies and tells him that he would never eat him. Several animals come by needing help, and Eustace uses diversion to stay alive, and gives ideas to Bear on how to help each one with the colorful sail material. Will Bear still eat Eustace?
Don't Eat Eustace is somewhat funny and entertaining. I thought the use of the pronoun "they" was confusing and distracting. I did enjoy the cute illustrations. Bear dresses as a boy, but uses the pronoun "they". Eustace also uses the pronoun "they" to describe himself.
