AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
Animals come out at night to catch their dinner, enjoy the cool breezes, and wait until the morning light sends them back to their places to rest again.
The illustrations in this book are gorgeous; the night-time animals absolutely pop off the page in some instances, adding interest to what otherwise might be too simplistic of a look at what some animals do when they come out at night. This is a great read aloud book, full of unique onomatopoeias and imagery. The text is a little too difficult for early readers, but the phrasing pairs perfectly with the illustrations and the easy to connect to storyline.
