AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

All the new baby elephants have to parade in front of the king of elephants. They have to show what is special about them and the king will give them a name. All but one elephant gets their new name - he does not seem to have any special talents. He walks off alone and settles far from where elephants roam. Pretty soon other animals come to his waterhole and he willingly shares and is kind and nice to everyone. When the other animals hear what happened, they march him back to the elephant king. Will this little elephant hold his awn and be welcomed back with the other elephants?

The delightful verse and the happy, bright and vibrant illustrations, and the story, make this little a book a "must read." This little elephant just wants to be free to be himself, just the way he is. It is a most delightful story about just being yourself. it is OK to be YOU, you do not have to be like anybody else. Be happy to be YOU.
