BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
A slug needs a hug and as others come along who also need hugs, the group grows. When Bear comes by the group momentarily scatters, but that king slug is the bridge between them.
Very much feels like a small format or board book.
Very streamlined illustrations, but they have some depth. I don’t like that they made the porcupine shake off his quills before it could join the hug. I’m also on the fence about the mostly rhyming text – it rhymes, but lacks rhythm, making for a tougher read aloud.
